More music, less finals! Thank God finals week here at GCSU is over, it was stressing me out--not to mention taking me away from the important tasks at hand, that is, updating The Mike James & DJ Kriegs Show blog with awesome music. So here's a little something from Cold War Kids from their upcoming album Behave Yourself. Ever prolific, this fun tune paves the way for what looks like another strong year for the band. Behave Yourself will be the 10th EP from the band, and this little number is a free from RCRD LBL, so give it a go :-)
Well, here's a beautiful indie song if I ever heard one. Lixian Hantover is, umm, actually I can't find out really anything about Lixian Hantover. What I can do is make some assumptions.--Lixian Hantover is a woman, or band with a female lead vocalist, whose specialty is morose songs about real estate that people who do campus radio shows in middle Georgia find particularly affecting.--Seriously though, no MySpace, no pics on Last.fm... With such an (assumed) lucrative career in the property market you'd think Lixian Hantover (whomever she/they are) could afford some internet proficiency. I did however find a download of the song, so you can give Lixian a spin--I think you're going enjoy it :-)
Putting together the countdown for this past Tuesday's countdown show got me thinking about Grace Potter at Milledgeville's Deep Roots Festival and the downright awesome jam-o-tronic time that was had. Well, GP and the Nocturnals are set to release their fourth studio album Medicine in Spring 2010 (pushing it back from their original Fall 2009 intentions) leading off with the single "Medicine." If you were at Deep Roots you'll no doubt remember this track, and if you weren't, well, this video will get you up to speed so you can fake it around your concert-faring friends.

What was once the amazing Mike James & DJ Kriegs Show on WGUR 88.9FM The Edge Milledgeville, GCSU's campus radio station, is now--post-graduation--an awesome online indie music blog of the same name. DJ Kriegs and Mike James, instilled with the passion of sharing great music with the masses decided to keep the blog alive and continue the passion for music. So don't panic! 2010 is going to be our year for great changes to the site, and, of course, the place for great indie finds.
